Every girl needs a go-to recipe that she’s 100% confident in–one that’s easily a crowd pleaser and that will always turn out. For me, that recipe is Simple Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, or as it was called in my house growing up: Sgetti! This was probably the very first thing I ever learned how to cook. It’s a super simple recipe and almost impossible to mess up. The ingredients are pretty cheap and always available and easy to find. Its really easy to trick guests into thinking this is way fancier than it actually is too. Toss a Caesar salad together, slather some butter and garlic on a baguette–broil and slice, uncork a bottle of red and you have got yourself a faux-fancy meal!
1 pound ground beed
1 can Italian style diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
2 tsp garlic powder
1 box spaghetti
Brown the beef over medium heat. I usually get the leanest beef at the meat counter, but the fattier version was on super sale, so I gave it a good drain after browning it. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and spices. You can also pick up a spaghetti spice packet to make this recipe even easier. Let sauce simmer while pasta cooks. Drain pasta, top with sauce and enjoy!
